In 2010, Ihe Nantucket Firefighers were a sponsor of Girls Hockey.
This season we are able to continue thanks to funding from the BOSTON BRUINS FOUNDATION. With volunteer coaching led by Chip Clunie and help from Nantucket Women's Hockey, The ISLANDERS girls hockey team is looking forward to another great season. Even if you don't have any gear, you are still welcome to come and borrow gear and see what Girls Hockey is all about.
Anyone interested in trying Girls Hockey this winter, please contact Lynn at Nantucket Ice 508-228-2516. Girls of all ages are welcome.
We eventually hope to get enough girls involved in hockey to start an all girls travel team and play other all girls teams.
In effort to keep the cost to a minimum and continue the program next year, we are looking for additional sponsors to help pay for ice time for the 2011-2012 season.
