Ihe Nantucket Firefighers sponsored Girls Hockey last winter to introduce the game of ice hockey to girls only.
This season we are able to continue thanks to funding from the BOSTON BRUINS FOUNDATION. We eventually hope to get enough girls involved in hockey to start an all girls travel team and play other all girls teams.
With volunteer coaching led by Chip Clunie and help from Nantucket Women's Hockey, The ISLANDERS girls hockey team is enjoying another great season. Even if you don't have any gear, you are still welcome to come and borrow gear and see what Girls Hockey is all about.
In effort to keep the cost to a minimum and continue the program next year, we are looking for sponsors to pay for ice time for the 2010-2011 season..
